Religious Education

Intent

At Bournemouth Park Academy, we aim to provide students with a broad and balanced understanding of the diverse religious beliefs and practices that exist in the world. Through our curriculum, students will develop respect, tolerance, and empathy for others, regardless of their faith or cultural background. By exploring different religions and worldviews, children will gain a deeper insight into the values, traditions, and ethical principles that shape communities and societies. This foundational knowledge will encourage open-mindedness and critical thinking, helping students to form their own informed perspectives on religion and spirituality.

Furthermore, we aim to support the personal development of each child by fostering a sense of identity, belonging, and moral responsibility. By engaging with questions about meaning, purpose, and values, students are encouraged to reflect on their own beliefs and how they relate to the wider world. This reflective process helps children to grow in self-awareness and develop a strong moral compass, which will guide them in making positive contributions to their communities and society as a whole. Our ultimate goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to navigate an increasingly interconnected and diverse world with understanding and compassion.
