Ask your child to create their own map of an imaginary zoo, using pictures and a key. Use symbols to show which animals live where and include other features such as roads, woodland, water sources and buildings.
Use the live webcams at Edinburgh Zoo to investigate different animals’ enclosures. Discuss how the animals’ needs are met. - food, shelter, and exercise. Design and make an animal enclosure using junk modelling materials.
Research different animal groups: mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians. Then sort pictures of animals into the correct groups.
