Meet the Coaches
Bournemouth Park are have four qualified sport coaches working in the school who instruct and coach the children in many fitness regimes and disciplines.
Sara-Jane Danvers-Brough is a qualified PE teacher with a BA (hons) in Physical Education with QTS. Having been a secondary school teacher in East London for 3 years, she then transferred to the onsite Primary School for the past 3 years as Head of Primary PE before taking on the new challenge of PE lead teacher at BPA. Sara has a range of coaching qualifications in a variety of sports, including her key interest of netball with a Level 2 qualification, which she also plays competitively outside of school.
Sara is looking forward to enhancing the quality of PE and Sport at BPA and increasing the opportunities available to all students whilst instilling a lifelong love for sport and physical activity.
Jon Bose - is a qualified PE Teacher with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. His qualifications include Level 2 Basketball Coach; Level 2 trampolining and ASA assistant swimming teachers award. He has been teaching in Secondary Schools in Essex for the last 12 years. He has taught KS3, KS4, GCSE and A level equivalent courses, specialising in PE curriculum development across all key stages and leading and planning post 16 sport courses.
Having previously taught at Chase High School for 9 years he has decided to take on an exciting new challenge and teach PE to KS1 and KS2. He has a vast experience of teaching different sports across the curriculum and has also competed himself at a high level in swimming and basketball.
He is looking forward to give the younger children positive experiences in PE so that they will continue being active throughout their school journey and inspire the next generation.
Gavin Cornell - qualified to Badminton Level 1 coach, cricket level 2 coach, handball level 1 coach, tennis coach, bikeability level 3 instructor, disabled coaching and FA football coach. Gavin has been a P.E. teacher for the last 6 years and previously worked for the School Sports Partnership.
Mark Lee- Mark Studied for a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma is Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness) at SEEVIC College. Whilst studing there he gained his Level 1 Football and Level 1 YMCA qualifications as well as qualifying as an Open Water Diver and gaining two star Level Kayaking.
From SEEVIC, Mark went on to study at Essex University where he eventually gained a BSC (Hons) Degree in Sports Studies. Whilst at University, Mark played in their double League winning football team and in his final year he captained the team.
