Explain, organising your writing helps the reader to understand. Putting your ideas into sections help (planning). When planning our work we can think about our writing in sections.
- What happens at the beginning? (Introduce the characters)
- What happens in the middle? (Explanation of a problem or main part of the story)
- What happens at the end? (The problem is resolved)
Read/watch the story 'Little Red Riding Hood'
Children to order events of the story.
Recap importance and purpose of organising writing. Discuss the need for a beginning, middle and end. Discuss use of headings and sub-headings - emphasis that the sub-heading must be related to the heading and the content of each sections needs to match the sub-heading.
Find news paper articles and cut them up. Children to match content to headings and sub-headings.
Recap this weeks spellings. Create your own word search using the spellings. Can you use them in sentences? Can you write three sentences for each word?
