This week we are writing a formal persuasive letter. In our book we are reading, Charlotte's Web, Mr. Zuckerman has decided he should enter Wilbur into the fair. For reminders of what a formal letter is, look at the PowerPoint, to remind ourselves about persuasive language, look at the Word Mat and highlight any phrases you think would work well in the letter. Read the Modelled Version and highlight any adverbials (telling you where, when, how, how often and why). If you are unsure of any words, look them up in the dictionary.
Read through the Modelled Version and create a storyboard including sentence openers, key punctuation and vocabulary.
Using the Modelled Version, write the address, a greeting and the introduction of your letter.
Using the Modelled Version, write your second paragraph.
Using the Modelled Version, write your third paragraph and fourth paragraph. Don't forget to finish with a closing farewell
