This week is Shakespeare Week and Year 3 will be learning about The Tempest. We will be using our English and Topic lessons to complete the activities for the play. You will find the sessions for each day on the English and Topic pages on the website.

 

Monday ENGLISH - (Session 1)

Have a read through The Tempest PowerPoint to gain an understanding of what happens in the play. 

Work your way through the questions asked in Session 1 of the Session Breakdown e.g. Imagine you are aboard a sailing shop hundreds of years ago. What does it look like? What kind of jobs will you be doing?

 

Monday TOPIC - (Session 2)

Work your way through the play script in Session 2 of the Session Breakdown.

Create a word bank of adjectives to describe the magical storm. 

Draw a picture of what you think the magical storm looks like.

 

Tuesday ENGLISH - (Session 3)

Work your way through the play script in Session 3 of the Session Breakdown.

Design a costume for Ariel.

 

Tuesday TOPIC - (Session 4)

Work your way through the play script in Session 4 of the Session Breakdown.

Write a character description of Caliban.

 

Wednesday ENGLISH - (Session 5)

Work your way through the play script in Session 5 of the Session Breakdown.

Write/ draw a list of things you would need if you were washed up on the Island.

 

Wednesday TOPIC - (Session 6)

Work your way through the play script in Session 6 of the Session Breakdown.

Draw a bowl of tropical fruits and write a menu for the banquet.

 

Thursday ENGLISH - (Session 7)

Work your way through the play script in Session 7 of the Session Breakdown.

Write a short summary describing the magical life on the Island.

Do you think Prospero should have given up on his powers? Why/ why not?

 

Friday ENGLISH - (Session 9)

Work your way through the play script in Session 9 of the Session Breakdown.
