Have a think about what the words "formal" and "informal" mean. Work your way through the Formal and Informal Language PowerPoint and complete the activities.
Read the letter sent to Year 3 from Mrs Ida Moore and then read the good version response to this letter.
Highlight and underline any key vocabulary and features of formal letter writing.
Create a checklist of what to include in formal letter writing.
Tuesday
Using the good version and your checklist to help you, plan your response to Mrs Ida Moore by making a storyboard of key words, phrases and images.
Wednesday
Refresh your memory on the letter sent to Year 3 from Mrs Ida Moore and have a think about what questions she is asking you.
Using your storyboard and the good version to support you, write the opening paragraph of your letter.
Thursday
Using your storyboard and the good version to support you, write the second paragraph of your letter focusing on what the first found artefact could be.
Friday
Using your storyboard and the good version to support you, write the third paragraph and conclusion of your letter.
