E-Safety at Bournemouth Park Academy
Technology is expanding at an ever increasing rate and the internet is becoming more and more readily available; laptops, tablets, mobile phones, games consoles, even TVs and DVD players now allow access to the internet. It's a wonderful learning tool for children, a place where they can explore and find out about a range of exciting and interesting things; the world is literally at their fingertips. However, like the real world, there are many dangers in the virtual world, and it is important that we work together to ensure that our children are safe online. At Bournemouth Park Academy, we take your child's well-being seriously, this includes when they are on-line.
At school, pupils engage with e-safety issues in the curriculum. The school network is extremely secure and protected by a filtering service and children’s use of computers is monitored by members of staff. This means that pupils are unlikely to encounter an e-safety issue whilst at school. However, out of school, in a more open environment, pupils are more likely to experience an e-safety issue. This can be a daunting concept for many parents; often there is a feeling that children know more than parents!
